Learning Science Design Review: an alignment check, not a rubber stamp.

State which learning-science principles your design claims to use, paste the artifact itself, and this tool interrogates whether each construct is actually present and functioning in the draft — or only named in your preamble. Every verdict is quote-anchored: no evidence in the text, no credit in the ledger.

Why This Tool Exists

The tension this review sits inside

AI Affordance
A model can hold your stated theoretical commitments and your full draft side by side, and interrogate every section of one against the other in minutes — the expert-review step that usually waits weeks for a colleague's calendar.
Named Risk
Drift from Theory — a design that names its learning science in the overview and quietly abandons it in the activities, laundered by an AI reviewer too agreeable to say so.
Guardrail
Interrogation before iteration. The review audits only the constructs you explicitly state, quotes the artifact back as evidence for every verdict, and flags what it cannot find rather than inventing generosity. Absent is a verdict here, not an awkward silence.
Human Judgment Domain
Whether the theory you chose is right for this problem, and what to do about a misalignment. The review checks presence, not wisdom — theory selection and the revision call stay yours.
What this tool does not replace: A colleague's expert review or an audience review cycle — this sharpens the draft you bring to them.
What I can and can't do:I check whether the learning-science principles you state are actually visible and functioning in the artifact you paste — quoting the text as evidence for every verdict. I don't decide whether your theory choice is right for the problem, and I don't see facilitation, timing, or anything about the room this design will run in.
Optional — this tool works fully standalone. Pick or create a project only if you want this review saved to the shared Design Journey, and to offer prior Phase 1–2 cycles as optional context below.
State Your Theory, Then Bring Your Draft

The alignment check starts with your own words

Requiring you to state your constructs first is deliberate — explicit documentation of what you meant to operationalize is the tool's pedagogy, not a formality before the review starts.
